There are excessive volumes of email being sent to the mail delivery servers. This is likely to be caused by a concentration of spam email. We are in the process of isolating the source of the problem.

We have rolled the changes back that were made this morning and the queues are continuing to drop. It would appear that the config alterations have put a lot of extra load on the local mysql database. This coupled with NFS and AV processing issues caused the problems we have seen this evening.
