Annual Contracts - Policy on Expiry of Initial Term

Summary:
Find out what happens to your annual contract after 12 months.

All annual contracts revert to a rolling monthly contract after the first 12 months.

For example:

  • A customer signs up for broadband on the 5th September 2006.
  • The service is activated on the 12th September 2006.
  • Annual contract starts on the 12th September 2006 and expires on the 11th September 2007.
  • From the 11th September 2007 the contract reverts to a monthly contract with a 10 days notice period.

If you have an annual contract and want to cancel at the end of the first 12 months, you need to give notice 10 days prior to the annual contract end date. In the example above, you would need to give notice on or before the 11th August 2007.

If you want to cancel before the initial 12 month term has expired, you will be held liable for the remaining months of the contract. In the above example, if you wanted to cancel in January 2007 you would be charged for January 2007 up to the 11th September 2007.

This applies to both residential and business accounts.
