[service username] is the username for your Metronet broadband product, not your Metronet account. The connection will not work unless you use the correct username and password.

You can confirm your broadband service username and password from the Services Summary page of My Account.

Please note: the realm e.g. 'metro1.net' which forms the end of your broadband product's username will depend on when you added the broadband service to your account (see table above).

You may not need all of these details, particularly if you have a USB modem as many of these detect these settings automatically.

Not all hardware manufacturers use the terms above so you may see PPP, PPPoATM or RFC2364 instead of PPPoA. You may also see VC Multiplexed referred to as VC-based or VCMUX.

Please note: these are the only specific settings required. You should leave all other settings at their default setting, unless you wish to set up your router in a non-standard way, for which we cannot offer any support.
